The Unova League Coat of Armsby technofortomcats

Another Pokemon themed Coat of Arms (these are super fun to do)

I got requested a lot of times to do a spin on the 'United States of America' coat of arms, especially considering a lot of the new Black and White games scenery and Pokemon are based on North American animals and cities. :)

The main eagle is now a Braviary* and I wanted to keep the right talon full of arrows to symbolise power and might, but replace the olive branch with an Oran berry Branch ;D
The shield is a beveled version of the symbol used in the games to represent the Pokemon league. I kept it simple to offset the shaded detail.

The ribbon reads Truth/Ideals since that's the main dynamic for Black/White. :)
The top seal was tricky. In the real CoA, it has 'a constellation of thirteen stars to represent the 13 British Colonies' but I wanted something a bit more Pokemon related. Somone on twitter suggested an idea based on the 'Eye of Providence' (aka the Pyramid/eye image on the USD) and combine it with Sigilyph* and the ruins. :)

it was both fun and frustrating to do all the fiddely shading, but I think it works for this particular seal as opposed to the clean lifework of the more european ones. Not 100% happy with the typesetting, but I can't seem to find a happy middle ground. :x

You may use this (for banners/forums etc) provided you do not edit it in any way or attempt to pass it off as an official seal of the United States government.

Yes, yes! This is awesome. XD
I always thought Wargle would be a perfect substitute for the American eagle, and now that I think about it, I can't think of anywhere Symbolar belongs more than on a coat of arms.

You did an amazing job with the "fiddly" shading, too.

Very very good. Only thing bugging me is the odd-seeming angle the design on the chest shield is at. Having the two different diagonals just seems jarring, for some reason

Wow, that is just great ^_^
Makes a perfect T-Shirt design for white shirts :D
It does look great with inverted colors for a black shirt too, but then the eyes and Sigilyph look a bit weird >.<

Oh, it's easy to convert the black lines to white without inverting it ;D

This is pretty cool. I like how you managed to combine the pokemon elements with the US seal.

Don't forget you can always do State Seals at times. I always liked my home state's (Florida) myself.

Ahah, passing it as the official symbol of the US Government... that'd be interesting xD

But it's epic! =D

Very cool! I do like the way that this Poke-beastie apes the American Eagle-as-symbol. Once again, your symmetry is beautiful.

Wonderful. The shading really looks amazing, and is still sort of similar to traditional woodblock styles. The text might just look weird because its the only solid black there--if it had a roughness similar to the rest of the piece it might blend in better. The font is nice, though. It's fine as it is.

I love how you used Sigilyph for the eye. I guess since Unova is based on the US, they would have something like this on their currency/etc., huh...

I might do the text by hand and trace over the typeset. But that's for another day! Thanks for pointing out why I felt it was niggling at me. :D

I go the idea to shade it by looking at a crush cap of the USAF. :)
